The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the lead department and authority within the United Nations system responsible for Global Environmental Affairs. The objective of UNEP is to promote international cooperation in the field of the environment, and make policy recommendations; to provide guidance and review the planning periodic reports within the United Nations system´╝Ťto review the world environmental situation of emerging international environmental issues; to review the impact and increased costs ; to promote the acquisition of knowledge of the environment and the exchange of intelligence agencies.
